Who we are

Digital Media Reserve is an imprint and product of DMI Systems Private Limited, and a division of Digital Media Initiatives.

Digital Media Initiatives is a small and good-tech project from India. For the last two decades we have worked in the domains of traditional print publishing, digital publishing and accessible publishing. Recently we have ventured into education technology and supporting social projects.

We build businesses that leverage technology and apply commercial strategies to social challenges: inequality, poverty, environmental degradation, and inadequate access to education. That sounds distant from a licence server until you notice who cannot get a book — and that the answer is usually a format, a right or a price, not a shortage of writing.

The team is small, with expertise across technology, design, teaching, marketing, finance and management, and long technical experience in accessible formats — NIMAS, DAISY, digital talking books and Braille — and in digital instructional materials.
